Samantha Pleet

There are not enough words to express my adoration for Samantha Pleet. For days I have been trying to articulate everything that I love about her and her label, but it just ended up being a mess of me gushing about how much I wish I was Samantha Pleet and/or how much I wish I worked for her. To summarise and save you all the tragedy of reading my ramblings lets just say she is my inspiration. She is true to her own personal style and taste. She works in a way that is both innovative and environmentally friendly (hello, her Brooklyn studio is wind powered!) and well, from what I've read and seen, she is just lovely. The above images are a sample of her soon to be released Spring/Summer 2013 range and I would wear absolutely everything. Everything. I tell no lie.

Happy festive season dear friends!

I know we are well into January now and it has been mighty quiet on this home front. But you know what? I'm ok with that. I do hope to catch up on the goings on over the next week or so as I finally get back into a routine and start the planning for the rest of this exciting year. I don't know about you, but January always leaves me bright eyed and bushy tailed, full of inspiration and ready to take on anything! Usually this naivety wears off around February, when the weather starts to wane. Hears hoping to a lengthy stay on the positivity this time around!

To recap, my festive season was spent in the company of my oldest and dearest of friends and family. Christmas was of course a mad dash to the main event which as usual, was rain soaked and full of nonsense and who hah. My journey into 2013 was as I had hoped - shacked up in the countryside with wonderful friends, great food, a few too many tipples and an exhausting game of Squatter the Australian farming version of Monopoly! Ok so maybe I didn't hope for Squatter, but it was a hoot and hey, I won! (I can now add theoretical sheep farmer to my list of useless skills.) In all honesty though, it's the first time I have had a relaxing holiday in what feels like an eternity. My time was spent with perfect company. We went for river swims, cooked up mountains of food, went hunting for waves. We played board games, took way too many naps and I got through a few books I have been itching to read all year. To sum up the last few weeks were perfect - relaxing and blissful.

I do hope your holiday season was just as lovely as mine and hey, it's the New Year so..... here's to another safe and successful orbit around the sun!
